Do You Or A Loved One Struggle With Addiction?

There's hope and help.

Is there anything that dominates your thinking, emotions, or actions - money, work, power, sexuality, alcohol, other drugs, relationships, or activities? If so, it might be an addiction or dependency. If not dealt with, it could shift your life dangerously out of balance.

Have you come from a painful family background? Those of us who have grown up in a dysfunctional family often have addictive personalities as adults. Unhealthy families produce unhealthy children who become unhealthy adults. Are you one? Do you have a history of damaging and hurtful relationships? Serenity Family Addiction Recovery is an ongoing, Christ and Bible centered recovery program, that assists those dealing with addiction in recognizing and healing emotional wounds through biblical principles (outlined in 12 steps) learned in group meetings and member to member and applied in all areas of life.

If you answered yes to any of the above questions, you are invited to come join us on Tuesdays at 6:30 PM, at Blue Ridge View Baptist Church, 745 Wolf Creek Road in Pickens, on the first floor of the back building, to begin healing.

12 Steps to Healing

  1. We admitted we were powerless over our dependencies, that our lives had become unmanageable.
  2. Came to believe that Jesus Christ could restore us to sanity.
  3. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God.
  4. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.
  5. Admitted to God, to ourselves and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.
  6. Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.
  7. Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.
  8. Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.
  9. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.
  10. Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.
  11. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God, praying for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.
  12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to others, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.
