Blue Ridge View has been sharing the gospel in this community since 1916 when a band of believers believed that God was leading them to start a church here in the Wolf Creek community. The original location was down at the bottom of Wolf Creek Road near the cemetery until we relocated here on top of the mountain in 1976, built by free labor, where we are located today where we truly are "a church with a view...and a vision." The vision has always been to worship our Great God and Savior through the faithful preaching, teaching, and singing of the Word of God. Today, we desire to gather together (Hebrews 10:23-25), to grow together as believers in Christ (2 Peter 3:18), and to go together out in our community to be His witnesses (Matthew 28:18-20) obeying our Lord's command.
The future for BRV is to continue the faithful preaching and teaching of God's Word by serving the Lord according to the spiritual gifts that God gives each believer. We desire an inward focus within the church family, to build each other up and support each other, and also an outward focus of reaching outside the walls of the church to share the good news of the gospel to those here in our community and beyond, "to the nations." The head of the church is the Lord Jesus Christ and we desire to follow the Lord's lead so that we might grow spiritually to continue to be the body of Christ that God wants us to be according to His Word. In these last days when many need to know "the way, the truth, and the life," it is imperative that we as God's church desire God's Word, God's way, for God's glory like never before. In a time when many are compromising due to a culture driven focus, we desire to be driven by the Word of God to teach and preach the timeless truths and "unsearchable riches of Christ" according to God's Word because "faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" (Romans 10:17). When we desire God's Word, God's way, for God's glory, the future will be as bright as the glory of Jesus that is the light of heaven.
