Our mission statement is simple. We seek to honor God as we serve others. Those others may be in our congregation, our community, state, country or beyond. Jesus’ Great Commission is not an option to be considered, but a joyful task to be obeyed. Remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how He himself said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
Our WMU meets on the fourth Thursday of the month at 6pm. We enjoy activities such as visiting our members who are shut-in, visiting nursing homes for Bible study and singing, making cookies etc to deliver to our shut-ins and widows at Christmastime and Valentine's. We have a clothes closet at the church (Christs’ Comfort Closet). This is open to church members, friends, family and anyone who has a need. We can meet pretty much any time but especially Wednesday evening before service, 5-6:45 and/or Sunday before or after any service. Contact Amy Newton (864-608-1900) or Melissa Bishop (864-608-5411) by call or text or contact the church office or a deacon.
Additionally, if you have elderly or sick parents who attend BRV and need a hand with chores or their yard, please reach out to us. I do not know everyone, but I would hate for there to be a need and us not know about it. When Jesus returns, I want Him to see me working. Working to honor Him, to praise Him and grow His kingdom!
In love, all for Jesus,
Amy Newton
Colossians 3:23-24
“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.”
